rel=\"noopener\">The 2021 Vrbo Trend Report<\/a> highlights that 82% of families surveyed already have travel plans for 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/news.airbnb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/01\/Travel_Report_2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Airbnb US Travel Report 2021<\/a> states that the majority of Americans are ready to travel again: 54% say they have either already booked travel, are currently planning to travel, or expect to travel in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vaxication boom<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The rollout of vaccines is expected to kick off travel recovery in 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.com\/InfoCenter-a_ctr.2021TravelTrends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TripAdvisor<\/a> states that 77% of travelers surveyed say they will be more likely to travel internationally if they receive the vaccine, while about 86% report that they will travel domestically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clayton Reid, CEO of MMGY Global, the global travel, tourism, and hospitality marketing company, also anticipates a so-called <strong><em>vaxication boom<\/em><\/strong> because people plan to take trips as soon as they\u2019ve received the vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trend #2: Aviation: slow recovery, low fares, and increased safety measures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iata.org\/en\/pressroom\/pr\/2021-02-03-02\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to IATA<\/a>, 2020 almost put air travel on hold and resulted in the sharpest traffic For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelmarketreport.com\/articles\/8-Travel-Trends-for-2021-According-to-MMGY-Global\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clayton Reid, CEO of MMGY Global<\/a>, believes air travel will pick up dramatically in the second quarter of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the recovery process is likely to be rather long and difficult. <a href=\"https:\/\/skift.com\/2020\/12\/31\/the-biggest-challenge-to-the-recovery-of-airlines-in-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to the Air Transport Association (IATA)<\/a>, 2021\u2019s air travel recovery will still only return the industry to about half of 2019 levels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurocontrol.int\/sites\/default\/files\/2021-02\/eurocontrol-think-paper-8-impact-of-covid-19-on-european-aviation-in-2020-and-outlook-2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurocontrol<\/a> shares this opinion, predicting that European traffic will recover to 51% of 2019 levels if the vaccine is widely available to travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure passengers are more likely to prefer airlines offering flexible booking options and low fares. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.partners.skyscanner.net\/insights\/new-world-of-travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skyscanner<\/a> forecasts that low-cost carriers will have the fastest route to recovery, though some other factors, such as hygiene, safety, and flexibility, have moved to the forefront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/scottscheapflights.com\/state-of-cheap-flights-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of Cheap Flights report<\/a>, more than half (56%) of survey participants name price as their deciding factor when choosing flights, while only 10% say that COVID safety and travel flexibility is the most crucial factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
