Hot, fresh affiliate tools in one click, served up by the Travelpayouts Chrome Extension.

How to create affiliate links right in your browser

If you’re constantly jumping between tabs and getting distracted by side tasks, it’s hard to work efficiently. Enter the Travelpayouts Chrome Extension.

The affiliate link is at the heart of monetizing content, so generating links fast is crucial for a smooth workflow. The Chrome extension lets you generate affiliate links from any tab in just one click. No more switching, no more logging in. Just open a top travel brand’s website, grab the link, and earn rewards for every sale.

How the extension makes your work easier and safer

You can still make links the old-school way (by copying them from Tools → Links or generating them on affiliate program pages). But our extension is a nifty tool in a lot of ways:

  • No need to give assistants access to your Travelpayouts account. They can create affiliate links right from brands’ websites.
  • Save time. Create and shorten affiliate links instantly, without jumping back and forth between tabs.
  • Shorten links. Brevity is key, especially on social media. Short links still include brand names but omit technical parameters, which is correlated with higher conversion.
  • Generate QR codes instead of links. You can embed them in videos, social networks, or offline content.
  • Affiliate links for different domains. If a brand uses regional domains, you can use the extension to generate a link to any of them: raileurope.com, raileurope.com.au, raileurope.co.th, and so on.

How to generate a link with the extension

  1. Install the extension through the Chrome Web Store. It’s 100% free.
  2. Open a brand’s website, copy the generated link and paste it into your content.

Note: The extension can only generate links for programs you’re already connected to in Travelpayouts. Join some now to start earning with top travel brands.

Six tips for using the extension

1. Use the topbar to generate affiliate links to a specific webpage

Link directly to specific offers to boost conversion. For example, if you’re writing about a particular hotel in Paris, link to that hotel rather than the main Booking.com page.

In the extension settings, enable Show Topbar on Affiliate Program Sites. Then an affiliate link will appear at the top of the brand’s site, and you can copy its shortened version, with or without a SubID.

    2. Use SubIDs to evaluate the effectiveness of affiliate links

The SubID feature lets you mark particular links and see how well they perform. Want to see how well links do based on their placement on a page or the article topic? SubIDs let you get granular in your statistics.

For example, you could use cheap_travel_post for budget travel articles or greece_summer_post for Greece trip posts. Then monitor your SubID data in the Reports tab in your Travelpayouts account.

      3. Shorten your links

Short links don’t include ugly technical stuff like &@ufh28. That makes them look more trustworthy and saves space in social media posts and bios.

The Travelpayouts extension lets you shorten and copy links in one go, and you don’t lose your partner markers or SubIDs.

        4. Use QR codes instead of (or alongside) affiliate links

Affiliate QR codes are a great alternative in videos, social media, and offline content, where links aren’t an option.

You can generate the QR code you need directly using the extension.

          5. Set hotkeys to create links even faster

Want to get super speedy? Specify hotkeys for activating the extension and copying links (like Ctrl+V for pasting). Set them in the Chrome extensions tab: Extensions → Manage Extensions → Keyboard shortcuts.

            6. Pay attention to the green indicator

The extension icon shows a green dot when you’re on the site of a brand connected to your Travelpayouts account.

If you’re on a brand page but the indicator isn’t lit, you’re not connected to that affiliate program. Join it in your Travelpayouts account, generate a link, and ka-ching.

Give the extension a go and simplify your workday! If you have any questions, our support team is online 24/7 and will get back to you within an hour.
